Is Morocco a safe destination to travel to?

Yes, absolutely! We want to reassure you that it is a safe and welcoming destination for travelers of all kinds. Whether you're traveling solo, with a group, or as a female traveler, you can feel confident and secure while exploring this vibrant country.

Why Morocco is Safe:

  • Friendly Locals: Moroccans are known for their hospitality and warmth. You’ll often be greeted with a smile and may even be invited to share a traditional cup of mint tea.

  • Low Crime Rates: Tourist areas, especially Taghazout, are considered safe with very low crime rates. Petty theft is rare, and violent crime is extremely uncommon.

  • Tourist-Friendly Atmosphere: Popular destinations like Taghazout are used to tourists and have a strong presence of tourist police, ensuring a safe environment for all visitors.

  • Developed Tourism Industry: Morocco has a well-established tourism infrastructure, offering a variety of support services, from trusted tour operators to reliable accommodations.

  • Safe for Solo Travelers: Many solo travelers, including women, have had positive and safe experiences in Morocco. While basic safety precautions such as avoiding poorly lit areas at night and staying aware of your surroundings are always advised, Morocco is generally a safe place for solo travelers.

Can I come alone?

Yes, yes, yes!

Our trips are designed to bring like-minded women together and make that first step into solo travel feel easy and comfortable. In fact, coming alone often makes the experience even more special. Most participants join solo, bringing an open mindset, curiosity, and a genuine willingness to connect.

Prefer to come with a friend? No problem! Whether you join solo or together, the experience is all about meeting new people and building meaningful connections.

What's the age range of the group?

While all ages are welcome, the average age typically ranges between 22 and 32. We’ve hosted a wide variety of ages on our trips, and it has never been a barrier to connecting.

I've never surfed before, is that a problem?

Absolutely not! Our guesthouse is open to surfers of all levels. Our coaches are trained and certified to teach beginners everything they need to know, and to help improve intermediate/advanced surfers where needed.

Is there a dresscode I should be aware of?

Even though Tamraght and Taghazout are getting more touristic by the day, please remember to dress modestly. It's a simple way to show respect and appreciation for the community that welcomes us.

In general, it’s perfectly fine to wear clothing that shows your shoulders or falls above the knee. On the beach, bikinis are absolutely okay too. Just be mindful to cover up a bit when walking through the village, visiting shops or the market.

As visitors, small gestures like this help maintain the balance between tourism and local life.

Anything I shouldn't forget to pack?

A few personal essentials we recommend bringing: a reusable water bottle, tampons (they are not always as easy to find here), any general medication you might need (such as for car sickness or headaches), good sunscreen and after sun, a cap or hat, and a hoodie or light jacket for cooler moments.
